This spectacular and one of a kind mileage of the National Capital Region Police Office under the helm of PBGEN Estomo and PNP Chief Azurin, Jr. on anti-insurgency campaign to End Local Communist Armed Conflict or ELCAC is indeed a breakthrough milestone of the present administration of President Ferdinand “Bong-Bong” Marcos in a highly urbanized city such as the Metro Manila would the hardcore members of CPP/NPA confidently chose to renounce leftist ideology and re-embrace democracy.
PBGEN Estomo warmly welcomed the returnees and facilitated their Renunciation of Membership and Support from the left by taking their Oath of Allegiance to the Republic of the Philippines. As proof, members of the leftist group shared their testimonies, regarding the deceitful promises and bitter experiences they had inside the movement.
The occasion highlighted the Inter-agency “Serbisyo Caravan” hosted by the National Intelligence Commission Agency (NICA) JRTF-NCR with the collaboration of Department of Health (DOH), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Technical Education and Skills Development (TESDA), NCRPO Regional Medical & Dental Unit (RMDU) and Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) at the place with the same objective of delivering genuine public service as they brought government’s initiatives, livelihood programs, aid and services to the residents of the Barangay. Free services offered during the caravan were, medical consultation, dental check-up, libreng gupit, libreng tuli, PNP NUP Recruitment and others.
ARD Estomo told the Press that these surrenderers had sent feelers way back his stint as the Regional Director of Police Regional Office 5 in Bicol Region but their enthusiasm was temporarily abated when he transferred assignment to the NCR. Knowing that they are Safe with the S.A.F.E. NCRPO, they pursued their plan to surrender and lay down their arms.
Sa NCRPO Safe kayo kaya’t “Tulong tulong Tayo,” he said.
ARD appealled to other members of leftist groups to turn themselves in to the authorities and guaranteed that necessary assistance will be given to them.
Estomo further emphasized that while the other members of progressive leftist groups are busy rallying, having their protests on the streets and online, criticizing the government because of Martial Law, their warriors went down from the remote mountains of Bicol Region, laid down their arms, denounced their cause and surrendered to the folds of the government.
