GMA Artist Center stars Ryza Cenon and Martin del Rosario topbill in a romantic thriller in the QCinema International Film Festival entry entitled “Ang Manananggal Sa Unit 23B.”
The story invloves Jewel (Ryza Cenon) and Nico Martin del Rosario, two lonely hearts suffer from their own insecurities who will eventually find love in their own pool of sadness.
Jewel is apeculiar woman who lives in the city. Her secret turn her silent and make her veer away from the crowd. Her quiet world will turn upside down when she meets Nico, a man who feels empty and unloved.
As they start to fall in love with each other, Jewel figths her feelings to save Nico from imminent danger. Will their love to make happy or will it hurt them instead?
According to Kapuso stars, the film boasts about its uniqueness and boldness, which drove Ryza and Martin to give in to the daring roles.
For Martin, the story fulfils his passion as an actor. “Matapang ang tema. It’s not your usual storyline. Fresh din ang pac-tackle sa plot dahil makabago ang treatment sa story. Makikita mo ang ibang klase ng manananggal.”
Meanwhile for Ryza, she considers the role as a milestone in her acting career. “First time ko siyang nagawa, and naiyak ako bago ako magpunta sa set. Bigla nag-flash sa utak ko yung mga nagawa ko dati, and it made me realize how big an oppurtunity this is. I think this helped me improve my craft as an actress.
