European Higher Education Fair 2025 Opens in Manila: A Gateway to Global Learning

The European Higher Education Fair (EHEF) 2025 officially kicked off in Manila, welcoming Filipino students, researchers, and academicians to explore a world of academic and research opportunities across the European Union. Held annually, the EHEF has long served as a premier platform that connects Filipinos to Europe’s top universities, research institutions, and scholarship programs—and this year’s edition promises to be its most expansive yet.

This year’s opening ceremony highlights a symbolic and unifying gesture: the EU Ambassador and representatives from EU Member States will come together to form an image representing the fair’s theme, “Pathways to Excellence.” This act underscores Europe’s shared commitment to nurturing talent and strengthening its educational ties with the Philippines.

“We are pleased to open the EHEF 2025 here in Manila. EHEF offers Filipino students and researchers a unique opportunity to explore new pathways to excellence while deepening the enduring partnership between the European Union and the Philippines,” said EU Ambassador H.E. Massimo Santoro.

As one of the flagship events of the EU Delegation to the Philippines, the EHEF continues to showcase the EU as a global hub for advanced learning, innovation, and academic excellence. This year introduces two exciting new program sessions: Copernicus, the EU’s Earth observation initiative, and EURAXESS, a research support network for scholars and innovators.

Strong Academic Partnerships Nationwide

The EHEF 2025 is supported by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in collaboration with its regional hubs:

  • University of Santo Tomas – Metro Manila
  • University of the Cordilleras – Luzon
  • Eastern Visayas State University – Visayas
  • Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan – Mindanao

A broad network of university partners across the country—including Ateneo de Davao University, De La Salle University, FEU, Polytechnic University of the Philippines, University of the Philippines Manila, Visayas State University, and many more—ensures nationwide reach and engagement.

Professional groups like the National Academy of Science and Technology–Philippines, Philippine Computer Society, Philippine Economic Society, and the United Architects of the Philippines further reinforce the fair’s academic and industry relevance. Media partners from leading publications and digital platforms help extend the event’s visibility to students across the archipelago.
